HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

  • Our theme for the month of May is “Spring Forward with God!” The scripture reference is taken from Isaiah 43:19 and it reads as such:

Isaiah 43:19 – Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

  • We want to remind you of opportunities to continue your worship experience throughout the week:
  • Join in for our bi-weekly prayer conference calls on Mondays from 6:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. The conference call number is 605-472-5360, Access code 326031.
  • Join for our corporate fast on Tuesday from 6:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. 
  • Join us for Bible study on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. held in the main sanctuary and streamed on the church’s website. 
  • Join us in the main sanctuary on Sunday mornings for prayer service beginning at 10:30 a.m. through 10:50 a.m.
  • Join us for Friday night prayer services every 1st and 3rd Friday, starting at 7:00 p.m.
  •  Children’s church is held on the second, third and fourth Sundays of each   month.

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Rehearsal for children interested in participating in Youth and Young adult Sundays (which will be the 4th Sunday of each month starting in May), will take place each month immediately after prayer meetings on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month and will be ongoing as children learn songs and key roles to participate meaningfully in 4th Sunday services
  • May 23rd – Dr. First Lady Hammiel will be the guest speaker at the House of Praise, located at 5110 Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, NE, Washington DC 20019. The Heels of Faith – Evolve Her – Where Healing Meets Honesty – The Sister 2 Sister Table talk is a free event, however; registration is required. Secure your seat and come out and support Dr. 1st Lady Hammiel.  Flyers are available in the vestibule.
  • May 30 – The 2nd LOVE Ministry quarterly meeting. This means the Prayer Breakfast and second quarterly meetings are now happening on the same day.  This joint meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m.  We anticipate having a power packed experience of prayer unto God and receiving mana from heaven as we come together in one mind and on one accord in the Lord.  Please invite other ladies you know to join us in this experience with the Lord.  We look forward to seeing you there!
  • Save the date for this year’s VBS. Dates are July 13th – July 17th. The first planning meeting will take place in May. Please be on the lookout for details coming soon concerning the upcoming meetings. Also, if you are interested in volunteering to help teach, set up, serve, be a part of recovery efforts each evening and more, please sign up to be a part of the support committee with Dr. First Lady.  We look forward to having a fantastic VBS this year!   • Save the date for our 2026 Annual Women Conference to be held September 17th – September 20th.  This year we have a Paint, Praise and Pray Workshop on Saturday, September 19th. The cost is $35 per adult, $20 per child.  Payment plans start in May and will be managed via cash app or electronic payment options.  Plans starting as little as $7 per month can be paid in full at any time.  Please indicate on the envelope or in the memo section that your payment is going towards the “Paint and Pray Workshop.” The payment deadline is September 1st.  Please notify Sister Barbara Roberson if you plan to participate in the prepayment plan or if you wish to pay in full to ensure your funds are appropriately allocated to this event.  See Dr. First Lady for further conference details and questions.

BIRTHDAYS

           11 – Talaiya Upchurch 

  • It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory “Greg” Eubanks (brother of Sister Veronica Green).  The funeral services will be held on May 21st at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, located at 7 Industrial Park, Waldorf, MD.  Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Please keep the Eubanks family in your prayers.
